When Picasso said that Chicago was a woman of great vitality Rubin took it to heart and created this portrait of the city with the Biblical Eve reaching for the apple of knowledge and the serpent representing human lust.
The artist developed this form of Cubism while still in College employing Jean Du Buffet's space filling lines and the curvilinear form of Cubism invented by Piet Mondrian.
